Haukafell is a remote camping site in the southeast of Iceland. This area is a hidden gem that locals love to visit in the summer for its stunning natural scenery. Our campsite is conveniently located near the remote Fláajökull glacier, offering an unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts. Many marked walking trails are nearby.

We’re pleased to share that electricity is now available at the campsite for the general campground and the canvas tents. In addition, we’ve expanded our facilities with more toilets and showers for your convenience.

We understand that not everyone has their own camping gear, which is why we offer a convenient tent rental service.

Our canvas tents are spacious and comfortable, with 16m2 of floor space to accommodate up to two people. Each tent is fully equipped with pre-made beds, a cosy setup, a heater and lights so you can relax and enjoy your stay without worrying about the logistics of setting up camp.

Our tents are made from durable and weather-resistant materials, designed to keep you dry and protected from the elements. You can rest easy knowing that you’ll have a comfortable place to sleep, even if the weather takes a turn for the worse.

There are many hiking trails from the camping area. You can choose from a short hike that fits the whole family or take a longer hike for the more experienced hiker.  Below are some we recommend.
